The Haydn arrived today, so I can comfirm gzoop (Amazon UK) as a great seller - they even packaged it in bubblewrap and boxes.

Nice. :) Do you have a link for the seller's store-front? Gzoop isn't listed in the MP vendors list for any of those three boxes.

Ha! That's because they sold out of them in like 2 minutes when they were 3 pounds each (after they were posted here). I wonder whether it was an error or if they just needed to get rid of inventory for some reason (maybe those had sat a long time)?

Oh, sorry, I forgot how hard Amazon was to search for these vendors:

Well, at least now I have noted down a possible format with which to search: http://www.amazon.co.uk/shops/<storename>. Thanks. :)

I don't know how much classical inventory that seller has, but maybe it was a loss leader to get people to look at their store? Still, nice catch and carry by those lucky individuals fortunate enough to get in before the price adjustment.

MDT have just added 21 discs from the Hyperion Schubert edition for sale. If you were collecting them individually or just want to sample them, this is a good way.

I'm just slightly concerned that my sets haven't arrived yet, despite being notified of them being shipped on the 14th.

Does everyone else have theirs or is anyone else still waiting?

Best Wishes

Yes - I am in the same position. However, the 'window' for delivery still has a few days to run. My experience (in the UK) is that if an item does not arrive within 4/5 days of notification of despatch then it does not arrive at all. I am therefore not optimistic - quite the reverse in fact.

For me, the SQ and syms boxes have arrived but the concertos one hasn't.

I think it wasn't that expensive to begin with, but if anyone was hesitating...

Just be warned that AmazonUS may not be very quick to ship it.  I ordered it on 11/1, with a shipping date stated to be 9-12 days;  it was finally mailed out the middle of this week, and I'm told I'll get it on Monday 11/28 (the Thanksgiving holiday presumably making it a little longer yet).

When I ordered it (and at least one other here on GMG), the price was under $10US, btw.

Nice. Yea, when I ordered it, it said: estimated to be despatched between 1 and 3 weeks even, but then I immediately got an e-mail saying that they could ship it much earlier, and that the estimated delivery date is 30 November ?! (I live in the Netherlands...) Oh well, we'll see...

I ordered my Frescobaldi set the first time of asking on this thread.  It arrived within 5 days from the USA (to UK)....amazing.

Interesting set, all new to me.  Enjoyable, relaxing, contemplating music...got quite lost in it really  ;D

Great price.  I wonder if parts of this BC set were licensed from Tactus since Roberto Loreggian was the harpsichordist for both sets ...

As I understand it,  there are no duplications of recordings between the two sets (Lorreggian was not the only performer on the Tactus).

BTW, if someone wants the Brilliant set, it might be a good idea to check MDT now.  A word to the wise...

Speaking for myself, it's rarely, if ever, a good idea to purchase boxes from them.

:(

And last thing I did last night was order that set from them....
Can I ask why?
Actually, my other order from them included some box sets and they arrived fine.

Is it because of the shipping cost MDT charges?

Indeed.

Between MDT and Presto, my experience has always been Presto is cheaper when it comes to shipping to the US.  Presto charges $3.15 (IIRC) shipping for the first item and that first item can be a 20-CD box set.  All I know is that the same 20-CD box set will cost me more in shipping if I order it from MDT since the latter seems to pro-rate the number of CD's in the box.
