Me, too. But I would also add clavichord, harpsichord, tangent piano, all the gamut of keyboards arising and saying goodbye during his career.
Oh, certainly!

QuoteI don't know if ever has existed a more experimental age in matter of keyboards than the second half of the XVIII Century.
Agreed, truly a golden age for keyboard building (and for keyboard music, of course, but I'd stretch that to end at Chopin's death..)

Yes, the dictatorship of the black sarcophagus has deprived us of an amazingly varied tradition in matter of keyboards.  :)

As I'm not truly interested in the old discussion if this is the right place to post digital downloads, I will simply say I bought this set for $10 on 7digital:

Anton Bruckner: The Collection, 20-CD set.

Okay, that's so damn cheap, I might have gone for it ... so I guess in hindsight I'm glad I missed it!  ;)

The Markovina set was uniformly excellent (if one likes the modern piano, that is). One of my highlight sets for 2014.   :)

While probably not a SDCB, I thought it was a pretty good deal. Hamilton Harty's Orchestral Works (3CDs) for $16.98 shipped from the Amazon US marketplace.

The Hogwood complete Haydn symphonies is $65 shipped from Amazon UK (after the VAT is removed).  For comparison, it's $245 from US Amazon...

Abeille has some good prices

[asin]B004DKDO1A[/asin]

It took three orders to get that one though ... first one through their site was cancelled without them even letting me know (when I wrote them, two weeks later, they said I should have seen it wasn't in stock and that they never charged my card - which was true - but then why have an order confirmation sent out?) ... second via a's marketplace was cancelled (not in stock), third was delivered fast, in a parcel wrapped with Naxos sticky tape, but with Abeille as sender, even though it was a different vendor eventually.

Bottom line: abeille may have good offerings, but reliable they're not.

Completely agreed. This box is a cornucopia. Particularly I enjoy the recordings of the piano concertos, the string quartets and the piano trios.
Any so-called free choice is only a choice between the available options.

Their website is horrible. When I first placed the order it went through at 0 Euro and no purchases. The second try it failed. On the third it succeeded, or so the email says.  :D But when ordering through Azon I have found them, FabulousCD, quite good.
