I tried to phone Sikora's (in downtown Vancouver) today but only got a taped message about their hours of business and heard to leave a message.

Are they closed or is something else going on?

Surely there are other Japanese restaurants in your area?

Nevermind, I got a hold of them.  The line must have been busy.

I just called your house and you didn't answer within two rings--are you dead?

I was just at Sikora's yesterday; you missed the massive, enormous THRONGS of high school students who flooded into downtown for the "Vancouver Pot Smoking Day" in front of the Art Gallery. NEEDLESS TO SAY, absolutely NONE of them made their way into Sikora's!

Can't wait to see what kind of crap they're gonna sell at The Magic Flute's former location.  :'(

Most of the "Japanese" restaurants in Vancouver are Chinese or Korean owned. There is no other city on earth with as much bad to mediocre sushi as Vancouver.

You're from Vancouver, Valkyrie? Or are you just travelling?

either they choose to spell the "r" as an "l", or it isn't Japanese.

and there's a Mexican restaurant around that starts with a "k".  ???
yeah, now that just doesn't make any sense.....
