Tried returning an item to Amazon UK recently.  The price of sending a simple CD has gone up 100%.  What used to cost $5-6 is now almost 13.

Yes I noticed this recently too - in my case shipping from Amazon US to Australia seems to have doubled in price. It stopped me ordering a few things.
Amazon UK still seems to be ok last time I ordered a few days ago but it sounds like they may be increasing their shipping charge too?

For some strange reasons, the US Dollar has been going up against a number of currencies lately.  But it should not go up against the Australian Dollar since Australia is in better economic shape than the US and Europe ...

Yes thats right - not sure why the shipping went up so much? Still, not a drama as I can buy from Amazon UK cheaply enough :)

It's difficult for ebayers who want to sell abroad and who are based in the US.  It has more to do with the fact the USPS has raised their rates for padded envelopes.

Currency fluctuation is a difficult thing to peg.
