I thought Kiefer Sutherland and mediocre were synonyms?

This has to be answered as being complete and utter hogwash.

If they were studying less and having more sex, I guarantee the suicide rates would be lower.

Anyway, Greg didn't mention statistics about sex, just about pregnancy. I guess low teen pregnancy rates are a good thing. :)

If "they" meant everyone, yeah, maybe. But they would have to be much less conservative in their sex ed to prevent all of the unwanted pregnancies, which I wouldn't even be surprised if they led to double suicides often (maybe less in your scenario, though, since everyone would be doing it).

I remember speaking to a teacher at my school last year who was teaching a student from Korea. He got a B on a test and just broke down and started crying ("I failed my parents," etc.)

A good reminder that there really is too much of a good thing (like education). Seems to me that their obsession with the West is not a healthy one, but one that is sick and almost perverse. The cultural standards that a woman there "isn't beautiful" unless they have eyelid surgery to look more western is just pathetic. Really? They should take pride in themselves more and support all walks of life, rather than this successful westerner envy thing.

Still better than Africa, though.  ;)

Don't you think those are sweeping generalizations about Koreans and Africans, Greg? Come on, you're a smart boy!  ;)

Past days I enjoyed this TED talk on YouTube, approximately about the same theme:

I watched the video and got the point. I'm talking about statistics, though, not stories or hearsay.
As for Africa, sure, you could be middle class or upper class, but what are the odds in comparison to other places? That's what I mean.

Crystal clear.  :)

BTW, with your affinity for oriental things, it's incredible you don't know any Park movie. I'd bet you'd love his Vengeance Trilogy.

To be clear, he's not that smart. Just read any of his 'musings.' He makes mirror image appear cosmopolitan.

The old story of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. A classic.

I actually ended up watching I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay. Fun, interesting stuff.
As for the Vengeance Trilogy, I do want to watch it sometime, but supposedly it's 10 hours long, meaning it'll be quite a while before I get a chance to watch it.

Not really, the complete trilogy lasts around six hours. That said, it includes three completely different and independent movies; actually, I saw Oldboy without to know it was a part of this trilogy.

6 hours?
Hmmm... it says on amazon the run time is 661 minutes (i guess that'd be 11 hours, actually), but now that I think about it, that's probably including all the extras and bonus features. I was wondering why so long for only 3 movies?  ;D

So, as I understand it, these three movies are not connected at all except for the sense that they are three separate tales of vengeance? Is this correct?
