About six inches of rain in California, Central Coast, between Friday and Monday. More, smaller storms reportedly coming. That's a lot for a November storm. Fire season is over, for all intents and purposes.

I had heard recently that California was receiving quite a bit of rain.  Boy, that's a lot!

The nicest weather in coastal California is often just after a storm comes through.

On another ironic note, the cause of the Mountain Fire that came through our area and burned more than two hundred homes in Camarillo Heights was determined. It was caused by brush clearing that is mandated as a fire prevention measure. A local farmer hired a tractor to clear brush and the tractor broke down causing a small fire, which was extinguished. The fire department took great pains to make sure the fire was out, including bare hands in the dirt, infrared detection equipment, and a perimeter of retardant around the burn area. A week later there was an extraordinary wind event which apparently rekindled the fire and blew embers three miles away.

The temperatures dropped a few days ago and we are getting a little bit of snow in Helsinki.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I'm so sorry to hear that.  Some time ago, I did read a story about how fires can still live on--underground--in Canada over the winter (which I think that I mentioned here).  Scary.   :(

My area is expecting 10-14 inches (25-35 cm) of snow over the next 24 hours or so. I have my shovel warmed up and ready go, although I am hoping the weatherman is simply being overzealous.

Not too bad. The snow has stopped and the streets are clear. Now it is a matter of digging myself out!  :)

Our first properly cold day here in Denver, high of 26 F. :o

And it might snow later.

That's quite nippy!  We've been down to about 30 so far with occasional light snow; no accumulations as of yet.  Cold and rainy today.

A weakened polar vortex?...
We'll get our first measurable snow Tuesday, but it's apt to change to rain. Probably less than two inches, all told. Will report,

Official measurements say just over 12-12.5 inches (30-32 cm), although with drifting it was hard for me to tell locally. Luckily, today was mostly sunny, so any snow removed dried out the pavement nicely!

I hope it changes to rain, for snow is no fun; at least in high doses.

Our normal highs/lows are around 40°F (5°C) / 30°F (-1°C) today, but we are expecting sub-zeros tonight. Blankets are out! Stay Warm!

I just got my heater fixed yesterday.  :o The thermostat sensor had gotten stuck, and it was blowing 61-degree cold air 24/7. Technically warmer than outside, but still dang cold. And noisy. And electric-bill infringing.

It took the maintenance guys all of 10 minutes to sort it all out. :-[  They said at this time of the year, leaks and HVAC are almost 100% of their calls from everyone. (Ironically, I had a leaky ceiling a week ago, and they were quick to show up and work on that when I reported it.)
