I listened to my first CD with music of Schnittke today (borrowed from the library) - this one below by Chailly/KCO. I find this music interesting. It's nice with the harpsichord in the Concerto Grosso No. 3, and I also like the inclusion of the beautiful oboe in the wild work - Concerto Grosso No. 4/Symphony No. 5. My wife immediately compained when she came home and I was listening to this music. It's probably not music for all conditions/moods (for me), but still it would be nice to have a CD of his music. Maybe this CD would be a good candidate for a Schnittke CD for my collection? Or are there even better ones?

That's one of my favorite Schnittke recordings.  The pieces are excellent examples of his work, and the performances and recording are superb.  Of course, it's out of print, but used copies (as well as CD-R copies from Arkiv) are available.  Here are listings on Amazon.
