Oh yes, I think you'll fight right in. Greetings! :)

And feel free to ask around about anything classical-related you might be interested in; especially if it's going to help you dig classical even further. ;)

I never was a rock singer, but I knew how to rock.... 8)
Welcome!

Hi again,

I really like Puccini, I saw Madam Butterfly and cried. I think Tosca is a great part, i love how she kills the evil Scarpia.
I am also fascinated with Strauss' opera Salome. I think the whole head on a platter and dance of the seven scarves is amazing. I also dig the creepiness of Wozzeck.

People have suggested Wagner,  but I cant get into it. What is wrong with me?

Absolutely nothing wrong. Quite the contrary.  :)

As our dear friend Florestan wrote, nothing is wrong.
I am sure that I will never get into Wagner, allthough,.... I saw a German film form the sixties, about the Nibelungen, no singing there, only orchestral, and nice costumes, so that worked for me..... ;D

Probably nothing. You just aren't a Wagner person.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Arrrrrgh! :-[

Welcome Artressa! Richard Wagner is truly the Father of Modern Cinema. Without him, it's highly unlikely movies today would be anywhere near as effective. However, he most definitely is an acquired taste!

Hi again,

I have to admit that I like Mozart opera, but I find it difficult to sing.

I am trying to understand Wagner, I like the harmony he uses when I have it in small doses.

It is the whole thing together, going on and on that losses me, but I am willing to learn.

Hi artressa, and welcome.  I love Tosca, Salome and Wozzeck.  So what part of the world are you in, and where did you see Madama Butterfly?

Hope you enjoy yourself...lots of fun people here interested in all kinds of music (including rock).
