I've heard that Alfred Cortot was guilty of playing some wrong notes on occasion, and my question is if anyone here can tell me which recordings of his do indeed have wrong notes played, so as I can compare them to another (presumably correct) performance.

Not being a musician or Pianist myself, and not having spent a large amount of time listening to Cortot's output, I cannot tell.

I got this box set awhile back, which includes most of his studio recordings from EMI. Are any of these wrong notes to be found on here, or was it mainly a live performance issue?

Try his Schumann Symphonic Etudes.

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

I just listened to that 5 minutes ago. Now listening to his Kreisleriana. Amazing. I can't make up my mind about Horowitz's: maybe too perfect.

I'm not sure if I have another recording of Schumann's Symphonic Etudes to compare to, I may have it on LP or cassette somewhere, I will have to look. I'm not a big fan of Schumann.

Is there anything else? How about Chopin? I have tons of Chopin recordings.

I can't tell you, as I never seem to notice them.

Again, I don't know. My goal is simply to enjoy his pianism, something that is easy to achieve every time I listen to Cortot.  :)
