So am I. However, I am not going to go to the extreme that you are going to. I'm gonna continue to check in here just once or twice a day and continue to try to increase my dedicated listening time. Plus I got your email so you won't be far, right?

Your ideas and gentle demeanor will be missed here, Mark and I look forward to your return.  :)

My goal will be that if my kids are awake and home, then I am not here.  (With the exception of my weekly Bach Cantata post.)  ;D
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

I wish you and yours well, Mark. And a merry Christmas to you.

You are the most affable and readable of posters. The cats whiskers, in fact.

Or reevoar, as some might say down my local.

Will you explain what a 'plonker' is or shall I? ;D

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, Mark! Have a good time with your beautiful family! I look forward to your return here!

Very best of the season to you, Mark.

Look forward to saying hello again.

Mark, you've been a peaceful and kind member around here. All the best to you. Hope the vibrational fields get out of the way and won't obstruct your listening/enjoyment. :)

Thank you, Bonehelm (or is it Greg?). ;D

Even in your absence Mark I got you on radar.

And I've got your email address, too, Bill. ;)

You're too kind, buddy. Thanks for everything this year ... you know what I mean. ;)

Take care and Merry Christmas.

And the same to you and yours, PW. :)

For instance, what is a plonker?

It's generally an affectionate way of saying someone's a bit of an idiot at times. Never used with any malice. :)

This is bad news to return to! Have a great holiday from the forum, Mark, and many happy hours of listening. We will miss your presence, though you and I will surely be in touch  8)

Thanks again, by the way, merry Christmas, and a half-farewell!

Yeah, sorry you came back to this, Brian. But hey, you're back online - that's great. :D And yeah, stay in touch. Oh, and no need to thank me for ... you know what. ;) You know what to do. :)

You're a great guy, Hector. I always read your posts, too. They usually raise a smile. :)

I'll need more than luck, mate. I'll need restraining. ;D

My theory is that I would just end up transferring all that time and energy (and obsessing) into another hobby. Like my current 1960s obsession.  ::)

What's that George - wearing mini-skirts, smoking banana skins and burning your bra?

I see.

I was thinking to the prolog to the final installment of The Office when "David Brent," with his characteristic bewilderment that the world has once again failed to appreciate him, looks into the camera and says deadpan "I'm not a plonker!"

Mark

Just thought I'd use my 3,700th post (man, I've spent too much time here this year ;D) to say one final goodbye and wish you all the very best for the festive period and into the coming year. Take good care of yourselves (and each other). I'll see you when the ice has melted, the bluebells have opened and the birds are singing of spring's return.

Byeeeeee! :)

Thom

Goodbye to you Mark, have a good time and all the best for you and your family.

Just got back from France today after a long holiday and saw this thread so I will respond belatedly as follows:

No I think Mark is really serious about his plans for the coming year and I believe he will hold out well into the coming spring. I wish him well and look forward to his upcoming posts!

My vote:  Mark won't post until the Spring of this year! unless......unless of course, someone maliciously starts an anti-BEETHOVEN thread then all bets are off as to what Mark might do.

Anyone who knows Mark from his postings at GMG know that this just ain't gonna happen:)
