In the Rhine Valley, a white Christmas for us this year.

The view from our main entrance (I should have put the car in the garage before the snow fell):

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Just consider it a very early spring wash Sarge... ;D  We do!

Dave will be glad again that he left Michigan.  This past week 20 inches melted and we were looking at a possible green Christmas.

Not to worry!  My son and I are supposed to fly out of here tomorrow @ 9:00 am.  Just got the new forecast:
50-mile-an-hour winds and 4-7 inches of snow between now and 5 am tomorrow morning.

pjme

Mist, fog ..SMOG ! very bad air quality the last 3-4 days. Cold, a dusting of very fine snow. Today everything is gone . Christmas will be dark, wet & gloomy....

The mist gave photogrphers inspiration:

Thanks for that pjme! It's gorgeous!  :)

Well the forecast was wrong; they can never get it right because Lake Michigan intervenes.  No problem with the weather.  However our first flight was so delayed that we would have missed the connecting flight in Chicago.  At least we weren't stranded at O'Hare.

Flying on Christmas Day will be peaceful - like walking in the wake of a buffalo stampede.

Harry

I hired a snow machine, so I will have snow, one way or the other.....

No snow here in south Louisiana, but that is to be expected.  I grew up in the Midwest and there was usually snow for Christmas.  I do miss the visual beauty of it, but definitely not the cold part.  It's currently 40F here, which is plenty cold for me.  :P

It is Christmas Eve here in Beijing. No snow, and the pregnant wife is having fever. Alcohol rub every 15 minutes for the past 10 hours, so we can keep her temp contained without having to give her drugs. So far she has been under 38c, mostly around 37.4. I have hardly slept for 3 days. But things are looking up. I just put on some Christmas music and may it bring good tiding.

Anne - hope all works out well for you! Being stranded in O'Hare is a nightmare (been through that a few times, myself!) - today, in Piedmont NC, sunny & in the 40s @ the moment - yes, glad that I'm here - Dave  ;) :D

Anne
