  A poll without WAGNER and VERDI and worst yet Mahler and Haydn ahead of Mozart and Schubert....oh dear God.... I am beginning to have serious doubts about the musical tastes of some of the GMG members.  And where is Tchaikovsky in all this??
  Mahler ahead of Wagner  , wasn't it Mahler that said that "there was only Beethoven and Wagner..." I don't even think he (Mahler) would have dared put himself ahead of the Meistersinger!

   Oh please isn't it obvious,  this poll is headed for a J.S. Bach vs. Beethoven finale which should please Don for the moment. The final result, much like that other Bach vs. Beethoven thread we had earlier will not be to Don's liking I'm afraid.
