Yes, but I have not heard a single note from any of these composers, except for Respighi. And I only listened to his music twice on the radio this year  ;D

Zemlinsky is easily the "greatest" of this bunch. Some of these I know too little about - but what little I've heard of John Tavener seems facile and falsely revential. So I rate him below the composer of really modest ditties - Ketelbey; who really deserves to sink without a trace.

I'm not sure you've got the idea, which is to vote for your favourite 'poison' or 'indulgence' rather than the 'greatest'; rather akin to taking a fav soft-centred chocolate rather than something fibrous and nourishing.  :)

I've got the idea - and Zelinski still wins hands down - though I think I will have to add a + to Lehar tomorrow.

What no Americans on the list???

Well, the list is mostly light and lame composers from the other side of the pond.  You could start a top whatever American Composers poll - or not.

Also, you can be the one that kills Lehar, and add your Barber then.
