Thanks, Harry.  I hope you succeed at your goals as well.  :)

Music: Each cd that I purchase must have a piece on it that I do no already have by that composer.

Physical Health: 1. Any snack that I put into my mouth must be all natural.  2. Continue my pre-dawn jogs each day.

Mental Health: Read at least one full chapter from the book I am reading each day.  This may be easy for most here, but with our two little ones and plenty of projects to do at our house, this can be derailed fairly easily.

Family: Starting today, if my children are awake and are at home, then I am not here at GMG.

There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Good resolve too, Bill! :)

Learn to read music and start taking Cello lessons.  That's my major goal this year.

I also should have added.....Try to find some people in my city that I can meet with face-to-face to discuss classical music appreciation.  :)  Unfortunately, I don't have any friends in the city who share this love for classical music.  Discussing things on an internet board is fine and dandy, but I would much rather meet people face-to-face over coffee or tea.

Well you are cordially invited my friend. :)

1. Work out. I discovered that being thin is not enough to avoid being spectacularly unhealthy. If I was asked to run down several streets, I would become exausted just as rapidly as an overweight person, so this situation must be cured (I could be chased by criminals one day :P). I will not use gyms, but there are plenty of other ways.

2. Change diet. Not for health purposes, but to engage more with significant other. I feel like scum when I keep turning down meals they want to make for me due to the spectacularly narrow range of food that I am willing to eat. For some reason I have yet to grow out of childhood phase of being "grossed out" by many types of food.

3. Read and buy more books. The net has put me into a situation where my attention span was gradually eroded to the extent that I could barely manage to get through a book. Ideally at least two medium length ones per month, preferably more. This one is already in process (I began in late November).

4. Stop buying CDs that I know I will rarely listen to, and force myself to share my music listening with friends (something which I have yet to be able to do, due to various absurd mental blocks).

The cello is an instrument for girls. Real men play the bass.
