Anyone watch it last night?

somehow i'm actually interested in the show, even though i don't care much for the singing/music. The finale was really interesting because I thought Melinda would win for sure (she was the best singer), but she got voted off. It was like watching the NBA playoffs, were the 4th and 3rd seed were in the finals, which is exciting to me because it's unpredictable.

Jordin's lucky, now she doesn't have to go to college, work stupid minimum wage jobs just to get by, or ever have to complain about not having enough money (no wonder she started crying, lol)

It really doesn't matter too much anyways that Blake didn't win since he's gonna have a career anyways, so good for him, too

Nope. Don't plan to, either.  ;D

I hate that show ......

the best part is hearing the awful singers in the beginning- through the middle it gets really boring, when everyone is serious

me too, i never watch shows like these.

Kullervo

I never watched it before, but my roommate is crazy about it, so naturally she drags me into it. Pretty rancid music and singing but it's good fun.

Yeah, she got ripped off!!  >:(

It's seems that the world forgot it was a singing competition.

Melinda was not only the best singer, she was the best performer, by a mile.  :-\

Totally, Melinda was by far the best. It didn't interest me much this year. But in this past I was a huge fan. I'm a singer so I've always watched it to some extent. I always liked Kelly Clarkson (the orginal American Idol) because we're both Texans and have a lot in common, though I think she's screams too much in her singing these days and is ruining her voice.

I think the best matchup in the Finales was between Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, two fantastic naturally talented singers that couldn't have been more different. And Kimberly Locke who came in 3rd to them could sing like he** too. I'm ashamed to admit I'm a big ole Clay fan, gay or what I don't care, but boy can SANG. Gorgeous voice.

He's coming here to sing with our symphony this summer, and I'm contemplating going...tickets will probably be sold out by the time I know if I can swing it...

It was fun to watch the judges utterly excoriate (trash) Sanjaya Malakar .........

I fully agree. I am a singer as well and thus I am much harder than the judges on the contestants. My girlfriend says I am too picky but I have sat through many classes where critique was given out and I feel that I know a great performance when I hear one, even if I hate the song, I can still tell if someone has a nice full tone. Melinda was the only one this season who impressed me.
