All I have are the cd-rs and of course the Met/Levine DVD.

Specifically I'm looking for the Karajan and Solti full versions.

I'm working my vision of Valhalla (see pic):

You know about Amazon marketplace sellers, right?

You mean the cds in the picture are not yours?
The Solti shows up time and time again on ebay and the selling price is around $70.
The Karajan is a bit more, like $100.
The Levine you can get cheap from canada for under $30 I think.

No, the picture is Sarge's unbelievably killa collection.

Hmmm. I'm off to ebay, thank you!

PerfectWagnerite

I am sure Sarge has a MUCH MUCH larger Wagner collection than that.

I think that photo is from Sarge's collection. I really hope I'm not misrepresenting his collection, as he has a terrific one (even from the looks of that one photo).

Hey where's yours, PW? If you post a photo, I'm saving it!

I will cut you a great deal on Liszt's Transcriptions of the Ring:

I'll post it once I get home. It is similar to the picture you had posted. Basically I have:

Ring Cycles: Solti, Karajan, Boehm, Sawallisch, Levine, Janowski, Furtwangler (La Scala), Krauss
Tristan: Thielemann, Furtwangler, Carlos Kleiber (DG and another one on Opera D'Oro), Boehm, Karajan (1952), Reiner (1937)
Meistersinger: Karajan, Sawallisch
Lohengrin: Kempe
Tannhauser: Solti, Haitink
Dutchman: Levine, Klemperer(EMI)
Parsifal: Barenboim, Knappertsbusch, Kubelik

I don't really like Lohengrin, Tannhauser, or Dutchman so I only about one recording of each and I almost never listen to them.

I don't have any highlights cds other than Szell. I used to have a few more but got tired of them and sold them all, this includes the infamous Maazel Ring Without Words.

Andy, it's my most prized CD, autographed by the master himself ........ which I paid dearly for at a special Liszt/Wagner auction  ........

The Solti full version is simply marvelous.  Its got the perfect Siegfried in my opinion and it is definitely a "must have".   Good luck on e-bay Haffner!

Haffner, my adjacent thread might be of interest- I have the Krauss recording if you're interested.

Sorry, I just love this thread title - sounds like something from small ads page of the Valhalla Echo

Correct. The pic in Andy's post was a picture meant to show my Ring collection. Here's a picture of my entire Wagner collection (minus the LPs and single CDs):

And the opera corner of my music library:

HOLLÄNDER - Barenboim, Nelsson, Steinberg, Klemperer, Solti (LP), Dorati (LP)
TANNHÄUSER - Haitink, Barenboim, Solti (LP)
LOHENGRIN - Kempe, Barenboim, Keilberth
MEISTERSINGER - Kubelik, Jochum (LP)
TRISTAN UND ISOLDE - Kleiber, Karajan, Leinsdorf (with Traubel and Melchior), Furtwängler (LP)
PARSIFAL - Barenboim, Boulez, Karajan, Solti (LP)

THE VALKYRIE - Goodall

The Karajan Meistersinger, Lohengrin and Holländer are pre-ordered and should be here within the next ten days.
