I enjoy Upshaw's singing a good bit. I think she has a very pure voice. Now if only she would sing some Koechlin.

I don't usually like an overly operatic version of "Glitter and Be Gay", so Dawn's version for me is just perfect. I was usually able to catch only half the text with other sopranos but every word comes brilliantly though here.
Her diction reminds me of Julie Andrews - high and light.

Here is a link to the Proms 2009 where Dawn Upshaw sings.  It is absolutely beautiful and it is this clip that got me listening to her, as I had never heard of her before.

It blew me away.    The piece in itself is utterly beautiful.  :)
