the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Nah...Motörhead's Lemmy   ;D

Seriously, I like Graham Bonnet. He's the main reason this is my favorite metal album (after Ace of Spades, that is):

Sarge

I love Graham!
!!!And this , I feel, was the last great Rainbow album ("Eyes of the World" and "Danger Zone" kick a**!). But my favorite Graham is with Michael Schenker:

My favorite classical singer female is Lucia Popp who I think is the best Mozart's "Queen of the Night" ever:

YEEESSS!!!
She made me love opera...actually she had also referred me in it, so...and I also think she is the best Mozart's "Queen of the Night" ever existed. Having heard a lot of other singers I still keep her my beloved one.  :D

It is a particulary strong album, I think. I like every cut (All Night Long and Since You Been Gone are probably my faves...I'm a romantic at heart  ;D ). I'm playing it now. Mrs. Rock heard it from across the house and came to investigate. We haven't heard it in years...really took us back  8)

By the way, the Beavis and Butthead gif are in perfect sync with No Time to Lose   :D

I don't have that. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

Sarge, Assault Attack is even better than Down To Earth. Graham sounds great, and the production is astounding!

I'll third that. She's one of my favorite sopranos too.

That's all the recommendation I need. I'll order it ASAP. Being a soldier, I already approve of the title  ;D

You're really gonna like that one, Sarge.  Classical music influences abound all over the place, with none of the excessive hair metal guitar soloing. Schenker blows past the soulless calculator-obssessives with style and aplomb. Much of the album could pass as chamber music for strings and percussion.

As involved musically as this album is, it's amazing that Schenker had once played for meat-and-potatoes rockers UFO. But this album ends up ROCKING more than anything his former bandmates ever did.

Yes indeed! She was also great as Marzelline in Beethoven's "Fidelio" conducted by Leonard Bernstein (1978).

Why ruin perfectly good music by sticking words in it?  ;D

So no, I can't say that I have a favorite singer at all. Just some who are less obnoxious than others.

Classical, of course.... :)

The same with me, all my favorite singers are classical, most oif them singing early music.
