Marvin Rosen, will be airing the Concerto for Violin and Sitar, "Shambala" , Op. 228 by American composer Alan Hovhaness during the 9:00 am hour
of "Classical Discoveries"(http://www.classicaldiscoveries.org)   on Wednesday morning, January 30 in its world premiere broadcast premiere.

The work, in one 45 minute movement, was composed in 1969 for the Menuhin/Shankar "East-West fusion" duo but was never performed. This presentation is the first public airing of the work in any form and is from an upcoming OgreOgress CD due to be released on February 14.
