That is a lovely staircase, what city is it in? Did you take the photo?

Mike

Mike,

So I was right? You are "into" staircases? ;D

Mine is of the installation "The Light Inside" by acclaimed light/space artist James Turrell. Kind of hard to classifly, but he is really brilliant.

This installation is the tunnel between the new and old buildings at the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston. It's the coolest feeling to walkthrough, like you're floating, as you're completely surrounded by light. And the color changes incrementally every 15 minutes, so when you go back through, it's different.  :D

"The Light Inside" has several different meanings, the artist meant it to refer to the soul as the "light inside", but I like to think of it as, the viewers themeselves are the "light" literally, inside the installation, and also the illuminated tunnel is also the secret "light" deep inside the museum (reprsenting "it's" soul?). Hehe, see Turrell makes me think too deep! But I love it. ;)

My avatar is a Lufthansa 727 departing in Micrsoft Flight Simulator 2004.  ;D Couldn't find my old avatar of Beethoven shaving and it seems to have been somehow deleted in the old forum.

This one too?

Oh, yes....that is one that I first saw in an art book at school and I ended up shortly afer that buying an enormous art book just to get it....though the rest of the works, from stone-age to about 40 years ago have also provided a lot of pleasure, indeed I do like staircases.

A real pity they recorded only one work together!

I'm not much good at virtuosos...who are they? What'd they record?

Maciek

I'll venture a guess: the one at the piano seems to be Horowitz. The violinist could be Nathan Milstein...

If I'm right, then this would be the first time I guessed one of Carlos's avatars. ;D

That was my guess too, but only based on the initials he gives in the file name! :-[

carlos

Yes, Vladimir and Nathan. And there you add Gregor ;D
