Piece of cake: the one and only George Enescu!

Yep, can't fool us with a reference to Dinu  - you've seen that lovely photo of GE crowning a young DL with laurels, I presume?:

Enescu had a very distinctive face, I think - another set of great photos have him gurning various facial expressions of his Oedipe. Can't find that one online at the moment...

I asked you guys nicely...

Yes! But it seems as if it was only a few months ago you announced his birth!  Is he a Piscean like me?

So move to Ireland, and he'll think he's having the biggest birthday party in the world!

Or better yet, to Boston, where the city holiday is . . . Evacuation Day!

Me, last Spring. I need a new/better picture, though.
Beethoven's Op. 133 -- A fugue so bad that even Beethoven himself called it "Grosse".

Managed to get a better one. From early this morning.

Look at you pulling there with your mixed grip - even if it's only employed for your work sets it's still good stuff.
And if you ever hear that guy mumbling about how it's putting you at risk of a biceps tear, then deadlift him out of sight and mind.

Mixed grip + liquid chalk = love

I've wanted to try using straps for deadlifts, but they aren't allowed in powerlifting competitions (at least not in the federation I joined) and I don't want to get in the habit (not that I have anything against them). I know if I do it once and see a significant difference then it will tempt me to use them more and more. I do have lifting straps because I use them for front squats. One time I even brought them with me to do deadlifts, but then I realized that I didn't know how to wrap them around the bar properly (probably for the better, anyway).

First thing I noticed about your new avatar is the lack of socks - so you're obviously pulling that weight with consistently good form. You know what's been working for you and so you're right not to mess with it. Anyway, straps would make it less smooth when lowering the bar like the hammer blows in Mahler 6.  ;D
