I know why monks should hang out with monks.

Share with us, O Shedling.

"With fools, there is no companionship. Rather than to live with men who are selfish, vain, quarrelsome, and obstinate, let a man walk alone."

"... selfish, vain, quarrelsome, and obstinate";  well, that's "social media" in a nutshell, ain't it?   0:)

You got it, professor.

Has anyone noticed that the Shed is like a multidimensional Mobius strip? You think you're going along Shedless quite normally, and then suddenly the Shed transcends the normal 13 dimensions and comes at you through the 14th, providing an opportunity to leap into the point of contact and travel what once was a vast distance in no time at all.

I had not noticed this before, but it may be important. Especially to monks.

Alan, I was thinking of you earlier today, using the phrase "the listener's share," and casting it in quotes in your honor.

My dear fellow, I am honoured, though it is but a bit of theft from Gombrich's notion of 'the beholder's share', and the real credit is his. Still, in the Shed, all things belong to all those who enter in, so who are we to quibble?

I did recall that you brought the idea here from elsewhere;  but I wanted to credit you (even in thought) as the gracious messenger.

Then I must thank you for crediting the humble messenger, for we are in the Shed, and the Shed Beholds and Listens to all things, both humble and gracious. May your day be as lovely as the petals of the magnolia tree, and as pink.

I've come here to sulk and it seems the shed is a perfect place to be. 8)

OK, that is charming. (Did not see it the first time.) Many lessons to ponder.
