Also picked up the new Radiohead (was gonna suggest you check it out, Conor!) and the new Dylan, another Sinatra cover album. The latter I haven't heard, the former is very good.

Good stuff George! - did you hear the new Radiohead yet? interested to know what you think of it? (Im trying to avoid listening to it till I receive the CD but may have to check it out on YT before then!) :)

Yeah, I listened to it a number of times on my phone. A decent album, but not as good as OK Computer, Kid A or The Bends.

I have the Howard Shore LOTR soundtrack which I enjoy but not yet the Hobbit one, although I enjoyed the soundtrack from the first film, which is the only one I have seen - given to us on DVD as a present by my daughter's ex-boyfriend. My latest non-classical purchase:

The Lexicon of Love volume 1 was a great favourite in the 1980s, especially the song 'Poisoned Arrow' which meant a lot to me after I'd been dumped by my girlfriend.  :'(

The new album is very nice too - great for listening to in the car.

I am far behind. I still have yet to watch any of the Hobbit films. Given their length, it'll take me some time to finish them all.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural

The score to Tristan und Isolde, the old one was getting too tattered.

I so love their performance of op. 127. They didn't really it the second movement the way I like, but the rest has always impressed me. I still have that old box of their LvB SQs somewhere. I seem to remember their Grosse Fugue being quite good as well. Mostly they seem to excel at the bombastic, powerful.

Blast from the past. I don't think I've heard "Poison Arrow" or "Tears Are Not Enough" in a quarter century.
