WOW!  Glad that worked out.  Keep your eyes out for a decent used one for me buddy.  Any release for under $30 is fine. ;D

I thought you had this set, actually. Does it matter if it's digipac or jewel case?

You've got a PM.  8)

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Is that a re-buy?

Is that a re-buy?

Yes;  back in the Deeps of Time, I had bought it as a cut-out vinyl LP.

Have you ever compared first pressing CDs to their remastered counterparts?

Never directly, that is, I've never owned a first-pressing CD and a remaster at the same time.

And the only instance where I have (at two different times) owned both a first-pressing CD and its corresponding remaster was Duke.  I ditched the first pressing almost immediately, as there were guitar lines which were near nonexistent;  and the subsequent remaster is brilliant  0:)

Valentino

Count me a geek. Mid 90's remasters seem to be reasonably safe. Nowadays it's just loud.

Better late than never I guess:

Why I didn't buy it way back then I do not know.
We audiophiles don't really like music, but we sure love the sound it makes;
Audio-Technica | Bokrand | Thorens | Cambridge Audio | Logitech | Yamaha | Topping | MiniDSP | Hypex | ICEpower | Mundorf | SEAS | Beyma

That album is awesome. I think I have the first CD version--American.

A shame. I would have bought that original Duke from you in a minute. I'm still after a copy, actually. I like the early CDs because they sound more like LPs - warmer, not as loud, better dynamics and usually no noise reduction.

That's the new Beck right?  How is it working out George?

Allan

After one spin, I am looking forward to the next one. It's at least good, too early to decide if it's great.

My non-classical quest took a turn to the "best of" the 80's:

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love - £2.89 delivered (used)
Peter Gabriel - So - £3.07 delivered (used)

How will this insanity end?  ::)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I saw Gabriel play the Meadowlands on the So tour.  A good time!
