Downloaded from iTunes. Black cover image.

Never owned it before now.

I knew you'd see this.  ;D

Hey, please let me know how good the sound is. I'm mostly concerned with the BIG BASSY CRUNCH-slash-"Everything LOUDER Than Everything Else"-slash-We Can Really Hear Blackmore wail on "Child in Time" type o' sound.

I'm sure someone will come along who can tell you more about the sound quality than I can.  ;D

I feel like a retard, I've never owned this on disc, and it's one of my favorites (did you guess?).

I've worn out my vinyl and cassette of that Classic, so I need to grab the cd SOON. Which one are you getting, Dave? Gold or black cover? I've heard the gold has better sound, the black a really cool booklet.

Steve Hoffman mastered this one for DCC.  8)

Yes he did, and although I've never heard that one, I can tell you the old gold cover Made in Japan CD sounds much better than the remaster.  The Deep Purple remasters are pretty awful.

As an aside, this was one of their best sounding albums.

Can you say what you think of it in the film thread when you watch some? I've been moderately interested, but holding out. Apparently it has been very hyped in the US on each series release?

Will do. A couple of my choosier friends love it.

Love it.  The most literate SF series ever made and almost as much fun as Firefly.  We have them all--at my wife's request!

Excellent stuff, Karl.  Is this cd included?

Apologies for missing this query, Bill!

But no, there are no live albums in any of the boxes.

I guess it's literate. It's damn good anyway. Loads of fun. And, right now, 60% off at Amazon!

Keep going.  The character development and sociopolitical implications of the plot kept it interesting through the first 3 seasons.  The first part of the fourth was a bit of a let down for me, but I'm still looking forward to the final half season.
