I have an idea that the movies have now (recently?) been reissued in a massive set, with sundry extras.  Have already got both Holy Grail and Life of Brian with sufficient extras, so I am doubtful that such a set would be value added for me.

Can anyone speak to the (new) box?

It's entitled the " ... aw, shoot, I can't remember what it's called, but I have it downstairs! Oh. "Holy Trinity." The "Holy Trinity." There's a DVD of extras for each movie, but I must profess disappointment because Life of Brian, which is desperately in need of an audio remaster to take care of some of the almost impossible to hear dialogue in the first few scenes, did not get it. It's just the DVD releases you already have, together.

The DVD of Gilliam's latest film, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, has a preview of Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) . . . which, has anyone seen?

Well, er, yes Mr Anchovy, but you see your report here says that you are an extremely dull person.

My latest tweet is...

Starting to think Michael Palin is my favorite Python. His characterizations are so versatile, his face always a second away from a wink.

The "non-charismatic prophet" and the ex-leper in Life of Brian are two of his very finest, I think.

Yes, he's my favourite Python, too, for the same reasons. His facial expressions are really great. One of my faves is Palin playing Pilate, questioning Bwian in Life of Brian.

You guys have exactly deduced my reasoning: last weekend I watched Life of Brian and I think it was Palin's turn as the ex-leper that finally made me admit that he was my favorite Python. But then he came along as Pontius Piwate and removed all lingering doubt. Also noteworthy: his unceasingly cheery officer in charge of handing out the crucifixes.

Okay, now I have to see this flick again!

I keep on laughing in that episode (season 1?) with Palin's mimic art whilst announcing
And now for something completely different: a man with three buttocks!
WE'VE DONE THAT!
All right all right .... a man with nine legs!
HE RAN AWAY!
Oh bloody hell .... err .... a Scotsman on a horse!

Put me on the Palin bandwagon.  My favorite role of his was that of  Jack the friendly torturer in Brazil.  That was a really creepy character that seemed to embody the Milgram experiment.

I particularly like the way he turned on Jonathon Pryce at the end, and yelled at him for the inconvenience.

Just read this in Machiavelli:
"For this he was upbraided in the Senate by Fabius Maximus, and called the corrupter of the Roman soldiery."

And heard Michael Palin saying "I will not hear my fwiend widiculed by the common soldiewy."

karlhenning

And serve Machiavelli right!

Cleese:  I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to shoot you now.
Palin:  Righto Sir.

Oh, I'm sorry sir, I thought you were reffering to me, Mr Wensleydale.
