holy moley, from Ligeti, Messiaen, Debussy to this? This would be interesting. I love his playing in the Beethoven piano concertos. Anyone heard this recording?

Well, since I like Aimard's Ligeti and Messiaen, I'll at least give this a shot. His Beethoven I found utterly uninspiring--in fact, a great disappointment, since it had been given a rather big build-up online. But that's just my reaction; as always, YMMV. And let's see how he does with Papa Bach!

His Art of Fugue is a disappointment in my opinion. When I get the time, I shall write a bit more about it.

Aimard needs to get his act together. I love his Ligeti and his Debussy is very good as well, but that Beethoven recording was just, yikes, and now this?

*sorry to hijack the thread*
You mean his Beethoven concertos Josquin? I remember listening to them like a couple of years ago .. and I remember not totally excited about them. But I can't judge a recording from only one or two listenings.  I also had no enough experience in the Beethoven concertos back then like at least now.
