Why don't you get them all? You expect us to know them all. I haven't heard any of them. I have only a Naxos disc because I am not a millionaire.

Wait for a sale on Glossa somewhere, they pop up from time to time, and you will get it for 9 quid I guess, which I hardly consider insane for a quality product like Glossas. Fine well-designed booklets, with interesting information and backgroud on music and performer, as well as beautiful packaging (what a contrast to eg Naxos!) I always find worth paying for. YMMV of course.

Wait for a sale on Glossa somewhere, they pop up from time to time, and you will get it for 9 quid I guess, which I hardly consider insane for a quality product like Glossas. Fine well-designed booklets, with interesting information and backgroud on music and performer, as well as beautiful packaging (what a contrast to eg Naxos!) I always find worth paying for. YMMV of course.

Perhaps Glossa is simply too high quality for my incomes? All people don't drive Rolls Royce either.

Naxos discs aren't ugly to my eyes and they are suitable for my budget. Millionaires can get these Glossas.

There's always priorities, but occasionally a disc is full price for a reason (not too often though).

Exactly! I have never considered Water/Fireworks Music among Händel's best efforts. I rather invest money on his vocal works.

I don't exactly disagree with your view. I have only one Water/Fireworks but 25 complete operas (few duplications though).

Who needs 25 recordings of the Water Music in any case? I only play one recording, the one I mention above, the kind of recording that makes the listener realise how Handel was simply in a league of his own at the time.

Frankly I prefer Wellington's Victory

This clinched the entire debate for me. In fact, I would count it among one of those rare occasions where an argument is made with such force and eloquence that only those intellectually corrupted beyond redemption would disagree with its natural conclusions. Everything else said about the subject has now been rendered redundant and extraneous; we are left eagerly waiting for more crumbs of insight from M. Corkin in other matters.

I wonder who'd necessarily be in a better league in this case.
