but may start to look at Tulane's chamber free concerts.
*may*, the works have to be of interest. Like a  Ravel or Carter :)
I never even look at a  Louisiana PO schedule.
Too many reasons not to go, none for to go.

Easily more than 20 (without even considering performances of art music as part of church services, I mean).

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Being a music major in college, I am in the rare position of being able to hear more music live than canned.

I've been to 2...... should I put 0-5 or none?

Oops, I changed it to 1-5, instead of 0 to 5  :)

Well, I picked 6-10, most the Winston-Salem Symphony in North Carolina, but I could easily attend 2-3 a month in this area, just a lot of 'classical music' activity; in W-S, the NC School of the Arts has various offerings on a weekly basis (both students, faculty, & a combination) and Wake Forest University has numerous programs of various types.  If I wanted to drive the 40 mins or so to Greensboro, then additional events by the Greensboro SO, UNC @ Greensboro, & Guilford College - but as an older and almost retired radiology professor, I prefer to sit in my den, and listen to the music on my home system!  ;D

I wish I could say it was more than five, but that's about as many as I can squeeze in at present. Normally, something at the Cadogan or Wigmore Halls, the odd performance at the Barbican, plus a BBC Prom or two.

NONE sadly  :'(.  Seeing as how none of my freinds likes classical music I generally do not like going to concerts alone- I feel the same way about eating in restaurants (alone)!

For me it's 15-20.  Throw in a few jazz performances and maybe a couple of rock or blues and that's about it for our typical year.

Don

1-5 per year for me.  I'm not a big fan of live concerts.

ok, i put "1-5"...... although it's more like 0.5 a year, or less.
I HAVE to move to a city with a good orchestra, eventually. Which city would everyone recommend?

To paraphrase Geo Leroy Trebiter, No, but it hasn't affected their appetite.

I should say instead, that the orchestra is one reason we remain in Boston  0:)

Ever jealous of the amount and variety of concerts Mr. Hodges is able to attend?  I know I am and for that, my vote goes to NYC.
