Here's the list for Swedish composers (from Wikipedia):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Swedish_composers

I realized, after reading this list, that none of them are really "big names". Maybe some in Sweden, but abroad, it would be very rare to here a concert with music from a Swedish composer. Seems to me a shame, since even though there's many of them I've never heard; i can think of 3 Swedish composers that deserve better recognition. Two- Atterberg and Pettersson, and another- Johann Hammerth (if his other music is as good as his Percussion Concerto).

All around there's countries with "big names"- the other Scandinavian countries, for example...
Norway- Grieg
Finland- Sibelius
Denmark- Nielsen, Norgard

and then, all around them, countries with so many big name composers it would be dumb to try to list them all. Then there's exceptions (Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia) but those countries are extremely small, anyways.

But it seems to me that none of the Swedish composers have ever risen to fame like those that i listed, and I really don't understand why. Could it be that the country has a hard time marketing their composers to other countries?

Except in Sweden.

So, they have perfected the Absolut-powered Elgar-vibrational-field cancellation device!?

Exactly- that's why they're neglected. They are in rebellion of Elgar's multidimensional vibrational fields, and because of that, their fields are inferior. So the rest of the world ignores them as a result. It was a conspiracy by the Swedish time travelers who wanted me to start this thread. They wanted this thread up, even if they had to rob the poor composers of their superior vibrational fields. Oh well......

I'll add that to the poll, if you wanna vote for it.

They're not Swedish, it's a conspiracy, remember? They're actually Norwegian, and get this- not real composers, either. I know it's a bit hard to swallow.... this conspiracy has changed many lives. Just gotta accept it.  8)

Where is the "ALL OF THE ABOVE" button? You can't expect me to bother to click so many times to select all the choices manually myself!

Composer cosplay alone is a very interesting idea. When is our next con? XD
