I'm for an Ebola Nabob.
I like Ebola Imperator. Will Cato? Precedent suggests he'd die first ....

Our new ebola czar. Not a doctor, scientist, health worker, medical administrator. But hey, he went to Harvard.

That's from 2001.

I agree. It seems like it would have been appropriate to select a scientist trained in the medical field (ideally an epidemiologist)....

civil rights reduced to being trendy.
I used to go to Ann Arbor quite often. I noticed that on pleasant sunny days when Bush was president the world was an awful place, with much to protest. On rainy days or when Obama as president all was well, and nothing was worth protesting.

Met with the FBI today. They were super chill. As I suspected it was tied to the photographs I took while riding the train. Someone actually took a photo of me taking a photo. The agents said that I should be fully in the clear tomorrow. Was actually a fairly pleasant experience, plus it got me out of my 2 hour Administration Meeting at work.
Good news except...how did they know you were the phototaking guy?  Unpleasant implications there if the police apparat can track any random guy on the subway.

Photographing in public transportation or cities in the UK or US is definitely an excellent way to get into trouble these days, if there's anything suggesting that you're not a tourist.

That is definitely weird.

Good news.
Now that it's over I can recommend reading Eric Ambler's Epitaph for a Spy ...

I'm just gonna come out and say it. There's nothing quiet as much fun as mocking women who are attacked and called names. Sit back and enjoy, you'll thank me later.

Charles Barkley is one annoying dude, but I like how honest he is. I wouldn't doubt that he's wrong, since this has always been a common observation of how other people were when I was in school.

A professor was suspended from a top university for nine months following accusations he "sighed" and was sarcastic during job interviews.

Thomas Docherty was banned from the University of Warwick in January for allegedly giving off "negative vibes" and undermining the authority of the former head of his department.

The case against him included "inappropriate sighing", "making ironic comments" and "projecting negative body language".

During the suspension, the English and Comparative Literature professor was banned from the campus and writing references for students without permission. He was also stopped from returning their work or providing guidance on PhDs and was not permitted to have contact with undergraduates.

Yesterday it emerged the academic - whose suspension was lifted last month - is set to be cleared of all allegations against him.

Incentives matter. The dean needs to be removed.

These people must live in a different universe. I don't think half of the people I work with could get through the day without doing all three regularly.
