Unimportant...Hmm...well, it's the MOST important news to me. But in the scheme of things...anyway: My son was born early Thursday morning. I've been flying high since then, but I'm also exhausted!

Congratulations.  That is far from unimportant news!
"l do not consider my music as atonal, but rather as non-tonal. I feel the unity of all keys. Atonal music by modern composers admits of no key at all, no feeling of any definite center." - Arnold Schoenberg

Yeah, I was amused by that. It's good news but he might not be ready for how big a change it is! :)

Knowing this place, if we did have a Life Changing News thread it would quickly fill up with posts about how the Knappertsbusch Parsifal was finally remastered, and such...

I read a little bit about what went on in the story where a company named Cambridge Analytics made unauthorized use of Facebook Data. Apparently they wrote a Facebook App which presented itself as a personality test. But when a user ran it, it would vacuum up extensive data from the facebook account of the user, and from accounts of anyone on the users friends list. This seems to include data that the users and users' friends did not explicitly agree to share.

I get tired of Zuckerman's chirpy statements about how he wants to make everyone more connected, and how this will solve all the problems in the world, when what he really wants to do is seduce you into revealing highly personal information with a highly addictive platform then sell that information to the highest bidder. The real problem he wants to solve is the problem that there is some money in the world which he does not have.

This is my first child. I'm a bit of an old dad. :) I still can't get over the excitement. My wife and Sam came home today.
