That's the impression I got. IMV "Antifa" is whoever shows up for the protest. You aren't even required to wear black, though it helps to look fierce.

My oldest brother-in-law was almost killed by self-identifying Antifa protestors in 2020. The Molotov cocktails they threw at him were very real. But I get why some people think Antifa is not a thing. They read that on the interwebs. Barely exists = exists.
