Strippers need names too.

Once upon a time, when I was young and unthinking, I wanted to name any future daughter of mine, September. Seriously.

Do you think I would have limited her career choices?

She would have been destined to become a stripper or an actor on Mad Men.

How do you know that?  For instance, perhaps Zebras have (non-internet) forums around their favorite watering holes to exchange meaningless tidbits on, oh, wildebeest behavior.

As an old Donald Duck fan, that makes me very sad.

Advertising is out of control!  I don't mind Bond drinking beer, but I don't want to see advertising in a movie that I already paid money to see.

To late. Product placement has been going on for years. If not that, it is all about merchandising.

From the The Local, an English language German news website:

Elderly Germans 'cause more trouble than Turks'

I love the picture that illustrates the headline. Reminds me of Monty Python's Hell's Grannies  ;D

Ha!  I wonder what he'll do with his money while being held indefinitely? :D

Are our political biases hardwired?

Some amusing findings:

Conservatives approved of documentaries and going to bars; liberals looked favorably upon motorcycles and singing songs.
But what about bikers, huh? They like bikes AND bars. Genetic freaks!

Among women, conservatives were more into sex; among men, Jost and his colleagues found the opposite.
Which might explain some of Ann Coulter's appeal. But the unanswered question is "What kind of sex?" Knowing conservatives, I'm betting on heavy butch/femme dominance games, which is not my cup of tea at all.

Conservatives' bedrooms had more laundry baskets, postage stamps, and sports memorabilia. Liberals had movie tickets and larger collections of CDs and books.
This explains everything!

BUT:
They found that even in nursery schools, liberals had been self-reliant and resilient, able to develop close relationships and willing to easily cast off routine. The conservatives had been distrustful of others and anxious when facing uncertainty, quick to take offense and experience guilt.
By this definition I should be conservative. But I ain't.

Something about the combination of "one of Britain's most impressive private book collections" and "shed" offers a certain inevitability...

Surely there are sheds and then there are second homes that are classified as sheds to avoid council tax! A shame for him, he is being very good natured about it.
