Well, its "Rah, Rah!" hooray for our side time again. Tomorrow, May 1 is the 4th anniversary of Shrub's declaration that, "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended."

For a time, The Administration even tried to take soldiers' combat pay away from them, but even the Republican/Borg drones in Congress wouldn't let them get away with that. Time to take stock. To paraphrase Ed Koch, "How are we doin'?"

Well, 104 American soldiers died in Iraq in April. Its only the 6th month in which the American military death toll has risen to 3 digits. Yeah, the Surge is working. We're making progress. Have you noticed that in this war, they never say, "There's light at the end of the tunnel?" No one in the Administration thinks about how we might wind down this war. They're too busy dreaming up new cliches for the same old/same old. And, of course, the longer we delay the inevitable, the more likely we make it that we will repeat not only the early and mid-war errors of Vietnam, but the final one as well--failing to evacuate any but a very few of the locals who stood failtfully by us. Then we will have what passes in the modern world for "Peace with Honor."

War is Peace. Slavery is Freedom. Sis boom bee, kick 'em in the knee. Sis boom bass, kick 'em in the other knee. Hit 'em again, hit 'em again, harder, harder! Yeah, that's the ticket!
