I have always love  these:

I like the Brueghel paintings on the covers, even though they have nothing to do with either Bohemia or the New World.

I could (and probably should) have included the Berio/Berberian record, but mine had a different cover:

I think that's a different recording altogether (it has Recital I which the other one doesn't). I have Epifanie and Folk Songs together on the single LP issue. I think that recording of Epifanie has never appeared on CD.
formerly VELIMIR (before that, Spitvalve)

Maybe, but I only ever listened to Folk Songs, and figured it was the same version.  Did they recod it twice?

Funny you would post that, Sarge, as it's one of only two LP sets I still own (I no longer have a record player).

My mother bought me the Böhm Ring in situ at the (now defunct) Markgräfliche Buchhandlung in Bayreuth when we attended the festival in 1979. I encountered Theo Adam (the Wotan of this set, and who died last month) at a restaurant one evening, and he signed the Rheingold booklet for me.

The other LP set I keep is this (also a present from my mother):

Both the Ring and the Stravinsky set I now have in CD format, but have held on to their (lavish) LP incarnations  for sentimental reasons.

The rest of my LP collection stayed on the other side of the Atlantic and is completely dispersed now.

The 14 cd Boehm Ring Cycle I remember buying it special order at the 1996 special price of $94 which seems like a great bargain at the time LOL !

Back then I was salivating over the various stereo versions like Solti, Karajan, Boehm, and Janowski all available at the local Tower Records, all for $250 plus, except Janowski which might have been a tad cheaper.
