2 short pieces - contrapuntal studies

I thought I'd post a couple of pieces of mine which are grounded in contrapuntal technique because of discussion in another thread about contemporary composers and counterpoint.

The first is the second movement of a Piece for Piano Duet called Two Lullabies, and is a double fugue:

The second is a very short movement from a group of miniatures for Piano and Violin, called Chapters of a Brook. I'm sure some of you will recognise the subject of the fugue. It's by a pretty well-known composer.     :

NB - the notation is not finalised yet, in that there are enharmonic changes to be made etc

Of course not, the title and piece are meant to be directly representative of eachother. Are you saying you couldn't fall asleep to it?!

Just listened to the two pieces (and read along with the score). I really like them - wonderful clarity and rigour. Well done! (Can't do analysis, but can understand it - let Luke take care of that...)

These pieces are just excellent - I really liked them very much, and the scores reveal how sophisticated the thinking is in them (difficult to take in all that counterpoint from listening alone!). Any chance of more of these pieces?

I've got some pieces which have been recently performed by students of my university. When I get those recordings, I'll post them up along with the scores.

I would post the complete Chapters of a Brook, but in midi form the other movements would sound horrid, being that there are so many violin harmonics and techniques that could not be heard.
