I recently did a fund raising event which involved shaving my head. As well as raising over $1500 AUD for cancer research, I have now discovered a new hobby ... making hats!

I frequently wear hats, and I own probably about 20-30.  My favorites are the fancy styles that were popular many decades ago but are not seen so often now.  I especially like enormous hats with lots of feathers and/or ribbons.  I also like bonnets, and I sometimes wear them even though they are way out of style.  They are a bit harder to find than ordinary hats, but after some searching, I have bought a few.  I found a few more good sources of bonnets and other ancient hats, so I will probably be buying more in the next few months.

I love those big, flamboyant hats with the feathers as well! I did try (unsuccessfully) to make a hat with lots of purple feathers, but they kept falling out of the hat and were very hard to secure. I also made a purple and black spotted fake fur hat, but every time I wear it, the fur sheds and sticks to my head, which at the moment is like velcro!
