Drew McManus, author of the blog Adaptistration, is now in the fourth year of his initiative called Take A Friend To Orchestra.  (April is the month he's chosen.)  The idea is to take people to a concert--especially those who might not normally go to one.  He explains the idea here, and other writers are contributing their experiences.

I like matching up concerts with people who might be interested--you can never tell when someone will say afterward, "Wow, that was great--I had no idea."

;D  Sorry, Andy, I think you'll have many more takers for the girl than for you.  ;)
Men profess to be lovers of music, but for the most part they give no evidence in their opinions and lives that they have heard it.  ~ Henry David Thoreau

Wow, I didn't even know this existed, but last week I bought two of my friends tickets to the opera. :)

I'm very pleased to see that some folks here are getting some use out of TAFTO. Friday, April 18th will feature TAFTO contributions from readers so I hope you'll consider submitting a short contribution about your opera experience. drewmcmanus@comcast.net?subject=TAFTO 2008 submission for publication

BTW, TAFTO 2007 had two wonderful Opera oriented contributions: one Magda Krance from (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and the other from Kim Pensinger Witman (Director, Wolf Trap Opera & Classical Programming). TAFTO 2008 will have one opera oriented contribution next week from Chris Foley.

Best,
Drew McManus
