Anyone living in a glass house here?  ;D

Artfully done, mon vieux!

Damn, this topic would've been so much better if it ended at post 7 :'(

It would have been even better had it never been started.1 I understand that Eric loves to stir the pot, but there's a line between obsessive Pelléas-shilling and random posts about the physical merits of actresses who have about as much of a relationship to classical music as pancake syrup does to a Diesel engine.

The dumbest thing is trying to form consensus on such opinions such as beauty.

Then again, many here have been trying to do so with music.
Never mind, I guess.

Well, diesel engines are instrumental in the transportation of breakfast products across state lines, Patrick . . . .

Point well taken, of course.  Eric would make himself a more welcome presence, if he could whinge a bit less  ;)

In all fairness, this is the diner--she doesn't have to do anything with classical music.

Speaking of Miss Jolie, my sister met her and has a cute photo of them together.

She's actually kind of short.

I was referring more to Eric's M.O. for his idée fixe of the month.

To me, she is obviously prettier than most out there yet i don't find her attractive.
Actually, i can't think of any Hollywood actress that even looks interesting. The only one I can think of that comes close is Jessica Alba, but even she seems a bit boring, too. None of them have style or anything.

That kind of elegance and poise just doesn't happen in Hollywood any more.

Hi Paul,

Seriously, aren't rounder and fuller faces much more aesthetically pleasing ?

There is no warmth or gentleness in the faces of Jolie or Parker or 95 percent of the females that our society considers 'gorgeous'.

I worship Debussy's gentle revolution  -  Prelude To The Afternoon of A Faun  -  for its mostly carefree mood and its rich variety of exquisite sounds.

Don

I think that Jolie looks great.  As for Hepburn, I don't have anything favorable to say about her physical traits or acting abilities.

Ein leiser Ton gezogen
Für den der heimlich lauschet.

Solitary Wanderer

Seriously, no, not necessarily.  Eric, you are trying to take your own perceptions and preferences, for universal aesthetic laws.  It's not going to work.

It's annoying when he applies it to music, it's just gross when he applies it to humans.
