Jeff Beck wrote symphonies?....... and speaks German?.......

I am pleasantly surprised that you even know Jeff Beck, being not of his generation.
But I meant a different Beck, and you well knew that, you rascal..... ;D

Which translated back, gives us: I heard evening yesterday to the Cellosuiten brook of ship!

Great! That's exactly what I was trying to say.

My father used to exercise his knowledge of German expletives when we were young and he didn't want us learning swear words. But we learned what they all meant anyways.  ;D

All of them? There are *countless* swearwords in German. It's not like in English where you are restricted to 2 or 3 four-letter-words. And if you run out of colorful swearwords and insults, you can just make up new ones. For instance, do you know what "Flachzange" means? Or "Schwachmat"? Or "Laberbirne"? Or "Wichslappen"? These are all actual swearwords or insults, none of them made up by me. But I am pretty good at making up colorful insults in German, as you can imagine  ;D

Actually, that's only a small sampling of the actual number of Brahms PC 1's that I listened to on that particular day.  I don't want to overtax my audience ......... or give them the impression that I have a one-track mind .........  8)
