The new erato

Shouldn't it be:

Multi

?

Quick, someone start a separate one-liner thread.

I was thinking of that yesterday.  :D

It's the only thing that can save us. ;D (from this flood ;D ;D ;D)

It is FOUR whole pages ago since Renfield popped up to post again after a long absence. I welcomed him back because his posts were so valuable and full of insight and then what happens.......?

The poor guy deserved more of a welcome back....yes?

Who?

That, and most of the rest of the thread after my post, was quite enough of an acknowledgment for me. If it were otherwise, it simply would not be the GMG Classical Music Forum I know. ;D

(Although, on a more serious note, my sincere thanks for the truly overwhelming compliments, Dundonnell. I only wish the standard of my posts could always live up to them!)

Yet I will now ask for your (collective) permission to recede into the aforementioned Edinburgh winter, for the present. Further into the season, you might well see more of me - like frostbite, or carols. ;)

Bravo! :D

No.

(One-word liners don't count.)

Christi is a five year old girl, right?

Not sure, Dave - could be one of our disgruntled 'former members' returning for some fun & games?  ::) ;D

In all our one-liner fun we perhaps overlooked this valuable observation. I now think SonicMan is right: "Christi" is Somebody We All Know - in a child's disguise.  :P  ::)
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

Not everyone ignored that insight:

You see what happens when someone is paid a (wholly deserved) compliment on here? They run away again and hide ;D :( ;D

Brian

I doubt Christi is M forever. Just googled her email address. There is a w_christi@hotmail who is a college student and evangelical Christian; w_christi@yahoo (our new friend) has a blank Yahoo! profile and seems to be an annoyance on every classical discussion board on the web.  ::)

Doesn't anybody get it??

Whoever or whatever this member/poster is or isn't is almost completely immaterial. He/she/it is leading us a merry dance and wasting our collective time!

I plead guilty to responding to some of the one line 'posts'. Now I have stopped doing so.

IF it is someone/something trying to wind us up then he/she/it will continue to do so as long as people take notice. Totally ignoring the posts is surely the best policy??

Mike..I thought that you intended to delete the stupid posts? As far as I can see most are still up.

(And yes,...this is me wasting more of my time on this >:D ??? :o  Sorry but all this is p****** me off!)

Brian

Incoming!
Christi is posting in the Haydn thread.
Sorry to distress you, Dundonnell :D

No, you don't.

Just to prove that you're mistaken, you couldn't hit the barnside of a broad.

In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

So I see......(sighs wearily!).

The post is in response to Gurn Blanston's calm, polite, helpful response to an earlier question from him/her/it.

I can appreciate that the mods may feel that this is a child asking genuine questions but I would have thought that-by now and indeed long since-the collective wisdom would have disabused them of that notion. Christi has NEVER responded to any enquiry about his etc identity(apart from telling us that he etc is in Florida!). We should send Corey out on a Christi hunting expedition ;D ;D

Oh ********* why should I care? If people want to go on playing his etc game that's up to them!!

(I sincerely apologise to all who read this post for my sudden burst of intemperance :) :) )

Certainly my typing is as patchy as ever ("receded"): you might blame the running and hiding on that. ;)

Re this Christi, is he/she the post-Saulian-era troll in residence? There certainly seems to be a whiff of the mystique accompanying most forum trolls of proficiency, about him/her.
