Sorry, John. I feel your pain.

For downloaders: If you'd like to try out a conductor inexpensively, the Great Conductors of the 20th Century series is readily available. And for around $7.99, you get 2 CDs worth of great music by a famous conductor (well, I don't own them all--but I assume they're all pretty decent).

Maciek

Where? I'd be interested. In Poland the series is (long) oop (except for the Cluytens volume).

("Long" meaning 6 months to a year)

Amazon, for one. iTunes, for two.

Maciek

Thanks.

What makes it a bit difficult is that Amazon doesn't serve non-Americans, and I don't use iTunes.

But I have my ways of getting around the "Amazon conundrum". ;)

What are your favorite download sites? Perhaps they have them.

Maciek

eclassical and emusic. I don't think they do. But as I said: I have a workaround for amazon.

That's swell. Wonder what it is.  ;D

Don't be greedy, Walter.

I have a proxy.

(a person, not a server ;D)

((in other words: a person who serves as a proxy. Ha ha ha. ::)))

Many of those are still available from Berkshire, 10$ a piece. I think they do ship to Poland.

Maciek

But at 7.99... the 5th one is free! (And I can spend the remaining 5 cents on ice cream. ;D)

Drasko

But you don't get shiny black covers (+ slipcase) and I don't even want to imagine what from is 5 cents icecream made of.

Let us know what you get and how you feel about it, Maciek, please.

Drasko

And in case of 5 cent ice cream, how you feel from it.

mn dave

Maciek

A 5 cent portion may be small but in ice cream (unlike in classical CDs ;D) it's the quality that counts.

Wait a sec. Where's Dorati? :(

Are you telling me you'd take Dorati over five of the above?
