This seems to me to be an underrated and underperformed work (not that this is unusual in the case of this particular composer).

I've heard Plasson and Dutoit, and though I think it's the best performance in the latter's complete symphony set, I'd like to hear a better one. Any recommendations?

You won't be drowning in choices exactly.

My best guess would be Munch on Valois but it is oop (one £20 used copy at amazon.uk)

Other than that nothing comes at all to mind except Baudo

While browsing to see what new Dresden MD has recorded so far came across this set.
I don't think I ever heard of its existence before, is anyone familiar with it?

Not sure but listing omission of 2nd Symphony is probably just a mistake and there is slightly cheaper used copy available at US site.

This set is out-of-print and so expensive that most us would probably not buy it. Amazon.de does omit listing the second symphony, but it's there as this set contains all of the symphonies.
