For anyone not familiar with The Wonder Pets, they provide quite the best introduction to Operetta and Classical music for youngsters out there.

They're great.  I want to join them.

Excellent topic John, we need more addicts in the direction of operetta!
I am hooked already, but that you knew huh.
I saw the clip, and its indeed a good entrée into this branch of vocal perfection. :)

Why is this in the Diner?

I like Gilbert & Sullivan but the last time I mentioned them here I got clobbered.

So, good luck, John.

I also have a complete set of G & S, so let them come...... 8)

Can't imagine why. Sullivan was a highly inventive, highly finished composer.
"I don't know what sforzando means, though it clearly means something."

I was raised on G & S, Dad and I used to listen to his D'Oyly Carte boxes on Sunday mornings, following along with the libretto and "singing" along too. I loved it then, and still enjoy it a lot now. Very good music, brilliant satire, what more can you ask? :)

I see Telarc has a box set of their Mackerras G&S recordings. I'll have to scoop that up one of these days.

This is great news. I had no idea G&S did a WonderPets suite now published by Telarc.
Must be good. :P ;D

I love Gilbert & Sullivan too! And so do my sisters and my cousins and my aunts.  :)

Would that be cousins by the dozens? :)

Anyway, if the OP asks, I would be happy to move this to a more appropriate area. Or not...

You've never needed permission before.  :P  ;D

O do not know what or who the OP is, but as I started this thread and there are active Moderators, it can of course be moved anywhere the Mods see fit.   :)

Well I created once a thread related to operetta, maybe it could merge with that one?

OK, I didn't know if you started it here for a reason. I'll move it to the Opera/Vocal/Performance thread then. :)

If you want to go back and look for it, Harry, and bump it up to the top, I'll merge them later when I get home. It's a good idea, but I don't have time to hunt it right now. :)
