Based in Falls Church. We hit the Hillwood Estate Museum & Gardens, and the National Portrait Gallery.  And left ample time for what I believe is technically called chillaxing.

Word.

I used to do a lot of chillaxing when I lived in a mountain cabin and had to split wood in winter to feed the stove. ;)

No, I have no FB and I'm on Spotify.

There is hope.

Another question:  spotify free, is there a limit to what you can listen to a day/week/whatever?  Is it worth getting Unlimited?

I'm not at home so I can't tell you for sure, but I think I have just the basic free version, I don't pay anything, and I can stream it all with the occasional commercial (kind of annoying, imagine reaching the climatic seque of the third to fourth movement of beethoven's 5th being interrupted with some dude talking life insurance) But there's no limit to my listening, or at least I haven't reached that limit.

I love Spotify, it has helped me with listening to recordings I'm considering, and even listen to composers or works that I'm not familiar with.

The loudness is very high in the ads, and they're made as annoying as possible, too - but it's nice that you can mute the system and press play, and unmute when the music continues  8)

Sadly I've reached my limit (too much Ligeti)

From Spotify Community's FAQ:

QuoteAfter the account is 6 months old the following limitations apply:
"Starting with 10 hours, your account will then receive a 2.5 hour streaming allocation each week. Any time that you do not use in that week is saved up. Your streaming time can be saved up in this way to a total of 10 hours."
"There is also a limitation for each individual track*. You will be able to stream each track 5 times in total. The track play count is not reset each week."

How many here use xrecode?  Amazing right?

I needed to convert my music into flac to use with another player... because my iphone has to be sent in and a replacement shipped to me.  I don't know how long it will take.  So sad. :'(

Thanks Northstar and greg.  Might go for the unlimited then.

College kids not having to work on labor day?... wait, I'm lost...  ???

No. Their instructors have the day off.

I'm not talking about that type of work. McDonald's and Wal-Mart are open on Labor Day, I believe...

Indeed, as are many other places, and if a college kid has to work at one of those places, they don't have the day off. I, being an instructor, didn't really have the day off either. I just wasn't at school.

If this dog that my neighbor isn't supposed to have keeps me up tonight....I'll be pissed.

Just yell "SHUT UP" as loud as you can. My dad did that one time, and the dog got so scared that it stopped barking for the rest of the night.

Corey

At my last apartment, the neighbors downstairs (not known to be particularly neighborly) decided to keep a dog on their porch (this is in the middle of Chicago in an area with little greenery or wide open doggy spaces), as it barked continually from being kept cooped up all the time. One night, after being kept awake for several hours despite earplugs and loud fans, I yelled (half to myself, but loud enough for the neighbors to hear), "I'M GOING TO KILL THAT DOG." The dog was gone within the week.
