Hopefully you'll be able to untie that knot once you're done needing it to be tied into a knot....I don't know about you, but I don;'t want to stay in the same time forever (Unless I am doing a huge project for school, then go ahead and keep it tied!) 8)

I see, the same for me right now... though it would be nice to tie time into an unbreakable knot either 14 years ago, during a dream, or during retirement. Now... it would much better to speed up time at least several years.

That's the sort of thing which destroys computers in TV shows from the '60s, of course.

I'll be teaching my first professional guitar lesson Sunday (meaning, having a lesson planned out and getting paid for it). But I'll only limit myself to this one student, because I'm too busy to have much more than one. The extra money may be extremely useful.
It went very well. He ended up wanting me to stay longer, so I stayed a half an hour longer, and instead of $20, he actually gave me $40! (and said he has a much clearer idea of where he is and what he needs to learn)

He's basically at the very beginning level- we worked on the riffs to Iron Man and Smoke on the Water, for example, and I showed him some internet links, including one that has the map of notes over the fretboard. Also, one thing I liked was that he had very good, specific questions. I need very little preparation to get the lesson to last an hour.

As for teaching harmony, it seems like it'll be a bit tricky, though I do have a plan that I hope will be effective. He has the map of all of the notes and I told him to try to learn as much as he can from it. I'm thinking doing intervals and then scales/modes and then chords after that, maybe? (and somehow tieing it in with what he learned from the fretboard?)

Indeed. I, too, processed fish yesterday.

You didn't COOK them? (Fry, poach, bake, grill) Or PREPARE them?

I had spoiled meat... that will teach me something I should already know... never buy meat from walmart just because it's convenient. :-[

No expiry date? Or were you careless? (Wal-Mart is the wrong place to be careless, I hear . . . .)

This is interesting. Supposedly, the president will be answering our questions.

flip through the pages, and you'll see that almost every question being asked is about legalizing marijuana. About 29 out of every 30 questions.

I'm still confused why a pretty safe drug like this is illegal, while legal drugs are far more dangerous, so I can see why.

I didn't see a date on there.  I was too careless in the wrong store.

I may just be jeopardizing my probationary membership in the Cabana Haydnista with this . . . .

Well it wasn't too bad I was just nauseous for a day and without my usual hearty appetite.

He didn't address that question. Not surprising.  :D

Tried to watch that but eh, canned responses just make me more cynical. At least you get better orators over there than we do in this country.

Yes, I'm shallow.

Anyone got any advice on how to get into atonal/modern stuff? At the moment it's just unpleasant to me and I'm curious as to what I'm missing. Is it just a matter of adjusting to it through putting in the hours listening to it or is it something that someone can just find unpleasant and never get past that point?

*awaits the barrage of conflicting opinions* :D
