Cato would know . . . .
Since it's in the framework of musical construction, I am wondering if it means "quintal harmony", as quint means Fifth and one of the meanings for "rahmen" is "to frame".....but it is definitely not perfect....

Re bad grammar, part of it may just be lack of care. I'm usually pretty anal about such things, which I realise makes me an exception. The worst is when I have typing dyslexia (usually when tired) - my fingers hit all the right keys, but in completely the wrong order.

Oh, one always allows for the element of momentary carelessness, bien sûr.

Only in Japan, part 234898724242...

One of the main pages of the NHK site (the site for one of the largest newspapers in Japan) features an animated monkey in a suit, crawling around at the top of the page:
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/index.html

This is definitely not the first time you'll see this in a major Japanese newspaper site.
It's not the main page, but if you go to the main page at nhk.or.jp, watch a video article, and then click to what should normally be home, it takes you to this other main page. Although the site has improved from a few years ago, the navigation is still wtf. You simply don't learn web site design by imitating the streets of Tokyo. Or you can, but the "wtf" effect is not appropriate for any type of navigation.

O Gawd. I just made one of my periodic rounds of the "other" classical music forums. GMG really is the best of all possible worlds.

They're none of 'em a patch on GMG.

Somehow I don't think the critics will be kind.

Read a piece in the Guardian today where I came upon the word "hetero-normative."  (It can also apparently be written without the hypen.)  It's new to me.  Man, I should have taken some women's studies courses in college.

If I don't post for a week, it's because the place I'll be might not have WiFi. (Just saying, since in the 6 or so years I've been here, I probably haven't gone a full week without posting).

Glad to see you're posting about your listening on two dozen threads other than the WAYLT thread, Henk.  You are[/i a funny one.

Karl, let's not battle. It's not productive.

Calling me a "funny one", doesn't sound of much respect for me. :(

On the other hand, one of the things I like most about GMG is that it's an endless font of mirth -- especially for those who love irony.
