Drat it, I expect you're right, and I need to reel those babies in.  Not this week, though: there must be discipline.

You won't be sorry.

There are perhaps two tracks on the compilation disc to which I've not warmed yet, but apart from that guarded exception, I thoroughly dig the lot wot I've got.  So I rather suspect you are plum right.

Ha! From the two albums I mentioned above.

"Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" is about as devolved as it gets.

Well, there's much else on the compilation from those albums that I like very well: "Girl U Want," "Whip It" (natch), "Freedom of Choice" . . . well, and curiously, the only track from Duty Now for the Future on the Greatest is "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" . . . when I am done listening to the Tchaikovsky, I'll give that track a fresh go . . . .

If you have time, look for "Strange Pursuit" and "The Day My Baby Gave Me a Surprise" on YouTube.

Well, I take it back: no quarrel with "Smart Patrol / Mr DNA" : )

Or: my quarrel may be with the sequencing on the compilation.  For similar reasons, I filtered out the tracks from the inaugural album from that folder . . . dammit, it works as an album.

So, Dave, I've come 'round to affirm your point:  I'm going to have to fetch in those two albums on their own merits.

Nor with "Gates of Steel." Don't know what didn't grab me at first . . . might just have been that I was really hooked by "Through Being Cool" & "Beautiful World," e.g., and these other tracks are just a different thang.

Scotland is NOT a province or a state, and cannot be considered so.  It is a NATION with its own history, education system, law, etc...I am glad you are in Australia having made that suggestion, as I would have to organise a jacobite posse to visit your premises to correct such an idea.  To suggest we should be a state or province, with England / London running the show, is more insulting than how things already are.

We don't want to rule England.  We are not interested in empire building.  We just want to rule Scotland.

O Flouer o Scotland,
Whan will we see
Yer like again,
That focht an dee'd for,
Yer wee bit Hill an Glen,
An stuid agin him,
Prood Edward's Airmy,
An sent him hamewart,
Tae think again.
