My tv and my bd player are both smart... and I don't use either one for streaming.  The Apple TV, Roku Box, and others offer much better streaming quality than the tv and the bd player.

Seconded.

This is the TV I'm planning on right now...

The notion of dragging you over to the darkside of runaway cinephilia is appealing.  What did Slavoj Zizek say about Heidegger's Nazism?  "A right step in the wrong direction"?

Perhaps November could be Handel's Dixit Dominus sampling month?

That way, Mr.(Mrs.) Baroque Obama-nnie could participate fully!  :D

In all seriousness though, I would love a baroque themed month!  8)

Not enough Henning on the Festival! :D

George Lewis was the featured guest composer, and Del Niente was the featured guest ensemble.  I went to the Del Niente concert and it was phenomenal.

The Philharmonia played very tame music this year, Cindy McTee Circuits Yiwen Shen's First Essay for Orchestra and a brand new piece by Blair Braxton Aria and Toccata for Clarinet and Orchestra.  I thought the Braxton would have been the one to have something screwy happen, but something weird happened in Circuits and the Braxton went surprisingly well.  The recording session went incredibly smoothly this year, but still really tired.

Drove by my old house (only do this about once a year) and went to my previous high school (haven't been there in 7 years) to pick up my transcript.

Nostalgia is just brutal. Although high school and much of middle school were mainly bleh, they were better than this. Grades 3-5 of elementary school were easily the best and I don't think they'll ever be topped for the rest of my life.

I sometimes wonder why people don't kill themselves when they graduate high school; pre-adult life is like swimming, while adult life is like swimming with weights tied around your ankles. You'll drown, but why not make it more humane?  ::)

A video my dad e-mailed me.

http://www.youtube.com/v/lDUOmY80GhU&app=desktop

As bizarre as it is, I realized that the whole commercial is based on puns.

Choco booru is the name of the serial they are advertising, which means "Chocolate bowl," but it sounds like "chocobo." "Kue" means eat, but it also the sound that chocobos make (in English, "Kweh!"). Plus, they are dressed up as birds and the music is in the same style as the chocobo theme. Sort of hinting at it as much as possible but without copyright infringement. This is why I need to go to Japan.  8)

Does anyone else live in a place with a ridiculous amount of toll roads?
I may never go back to Orlando (or even Tampa) again without a GPS... I think I'll call it "Toll Road Hell."

I did get to visit the UCF campus... large mini-city, kind of what I expected.  There are 6 times as many students there compared to how many live in my town.

I got the odd feeling that people were looking at me... a feeling that I've hardly ever had before.
